McNairy County Wrap & Sign FAQ

Cost & Quoting
How much does a vehicle wrap cost?
Big range. Vinyl door lettering and magnets are at the low end. Partial wraps and spot graphics on work trucks are mid-range. Full color-change wraps on cars are higher, and full printed wraps on cargo vans and trailers are at the top end. We quote in writing after we know the vehicle, the coverage you want, and the vinyl tier. See our Free Quote page.
Why don't you publish prices?
The variation between a $200 set of door magnets and a $6,000 full-color cargo trailer wrap is too big to make a price list useful. Anyone publishing a flat per-foot rate is either overcharging the small jobs or undercharging the big ones. We quote per-project based on what the work actually requires.
Do you offer fleet discounts?
Yes. Fleets of 3+ vehicles getting matching branding get a per-vehicle discount over the one-off rate. Net-30 invoicing for established commercial accounts.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash, check, and major credit cards. For full wraps we typically take half at scheduling and balance on completion (we have to order vinyl after deposit). Commercial fleet accounts run on net-30.
Materials & Longevity
How long does a wrap last?
Cast vinyl (what we use) is rated for 5-7 years outdoor in our climate for color-change wraps, and 7-10+ years for cut vinyl lettering. Calendered vinyl (the cheap stuff some shops use) is rated for 2-3 years. Real-world life depends on whether the vehicle is garage-kept, parked in full sun, washed with the right products, and how it's used.
What's the difference between cast and calendered vinyl?
Cast vinyl is poured as a liquid and cured on flat film backing — it stays dimensionally stable, conforms to compound curves, and lasts much longer. Calendered vinyl is extruded under rollers, which makes it cheaper but causes shrinkage and edge-lift over time. Cast is the right material for vehicle wraps; calendered is for short-term promotional signs.
Will the wrap damage my paint?
Not on factory paint in good condition. Cast vinyl removes cleanly with heat after years of service. If your paint is already failing (oxidation, clear-coat peeling, prior touch-up paint), the wrap can pull off whatever was already loose. We assess paint condition before quoting and tell you upfront if there's any risk.
Can wraps be repaired?
Yes — we can patch a damaged panel by replacing just that section, blending with the existing wrap. We keep the design file on record so future panel replacements match exactly. Out-of-town shops generally can't do this because they don't have your file.
Application & Timing
How long does a wrap take?
Vinyl lettering and partial wraps are typically same-day or 1 day. Full wraps on cars take 2 days. Full wraps on trucks, vans, and trailers take 2-3 days. Complex multi-color printed wraps with intricate design can take longer.
Do I need to prep the vehicle?
Have it washed within a day before drop-off. We do a full IPA wipe-down and contamination check before applying vinyl, but a recently-washed surface speeds the prep step. Don't apply tire shine or any sealant to the body the week before.
Can you wrap over existing wraps?
Usually not. The right answer is to remove the old wrap first, then apply fresh vinyl. Applying over old vinyl traps moisture, leaves visible edges, and the new wrap won't last as long. We remove and replace as a single workflow.
Will the wrap stay on at highway speeds?
Yes — properly installed cast vinyl with edge-sealing handles highway speeds, weather, car washes (hand wash), and normal road conditions for years. Wraps fail when corners are cut on installation or when calendered vinyl is used.
Fleet & Commercial
I have 4 work trucks. Can you brand them all the same?
Yes — we design once, save the template file, and apply consistent branding across the whole fleet. We stagger scheduling so you're never down more than one truck at a time, and we keep the file for future fleet additions.
Do you do COI for marina or commercial site work?
Yes. We carry general liability insurance and provide certificates of insurance on request, including additional-insured naming if your project requires it. Common for property managers, marina installations, and corporate fleet work.
Can you do same-day for emergency situations?
For small jobs (magnetic signs, basic lettering) sometimes yes. For full wraps or printed jobs, no — we have to order vinyl and design the artwork. Plan 2-4 weeks ahead for non-urgent fleet additions.
Do you take care of USDOT compliance lettering?
Yes — we cut and apply USDOT numbers, GVWR markings, intrastate/interstate identifications, and any other compliance lettering required by FMCSA and TDOT for commercial vehicles.
